Background	Bovine herpesvirus type 1 (BoHV-1) is a member of the Alphaherpesvirinae subfamily. gD, the envelope glycoprotein of BoHV-1, plays a key role in viral entry into permissive cells and may cooperate with other envelope glycoproteins. Herpesvirus gD induces protective immune responses to disease in bovine or animal models and serves as a target for immune responses, and gD of BoHV-1 may elicit stronger immune responses compared to gB and gC.
