Background | LIFR also known as CD118 (Cluster of Differentiation 118), is a subunit of a receptor for leukemia inhibitory factor. LIFR is necessary for the proper development of motor neurons in brainstem nuclei and the spinal cord. LIFR is composed of a heterodimer LIFR alpha and GP13. LIFR alpha is a glycosylated variant of LIFR and is identical with M1 differentiation inducing activity. |
