Background	CD3E is a single-pass type I membrane protein that belongs to the CD3 family. CD3E has a single extracellular V-type Ig-like domain and presents on the surface of mature hematopoietic cells of the monocyte and myeloid lineages. CD3E acts as an activating receptor of the immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily. It also mediates activating signals by interacting with DAP12.
